The first fifteen minutes of the game went by quickly, with a lot of the play taking place in the middle third of the field. With 22:25 remaining, a flurry of goals came from Jesuit.

A three-goal onslaught ensued for the Cubs, beginning with a marker from Myles Purty. His goal was aided by two more from Jean Konate and Giovanni Marra and in the span of about four minutes, Jesuit found themselves up 3-0.

It didn’t take long for Edsel Ford to respond. They founf their first tally courtesy of Muqadas Zarifi at 16:11 remaining in the half. That cut the Thunderbirds' deficit down to 3-1, a score that held all the way to halftime.

Pressure ramped up in the second half for Edsel Ford, who was looking to get back into the game and keep their season alive.

Their attack would pay off at 25:05 of the second half when Ali Asfar found the back of the net from a shot at the top of the box.

The game continued to be all Thunderbirds as they put ample pressure on the Jesuit back line. Unfortunately, it didn’t come to fruition as U of D stayed strong.

At the 13:42 mark of the second half, the final nail was hit by the Cubs. A foul in the box by Edsel Ford led to a penalty kick for U of D, in which they converted on taking a 4-2 lead.

A couple last runs were made by Edsel Ford, but none finding the back of the net as the clock clicked down to zeroes.

U of D now moves on to face Northville in the regional finals on October 26 at Dearborn High School.
