Coinbase U.S. Customers Can Now Trade Crypto Futures
Coinbase Global says its eligible retail customers in the U.S. can now trade futures contracts tied to bitcoin and ether.
Futures contracts let traders speculate on price movements in markets such as for oil, wheat or the S&P 500. They are generally considered riskier than spot markets in digital assets given the notorious volatility of cryptocurrencies and the use of leverage, which can significantly amplify gains and losses.
Coinbase says customers with advanced trader status will be able to trade the contracts; it says users can easily adjust between simple and advanced.
